POPIA Compliance
Last updated: 18 August 2026
The Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA) regulates how responsible parties in South Africa process personal information. TenderBid Assistant acts as a responsible party and a operator (information operator) depending on the context, and we are committed to processing personal information lawfully and in a reasonable manner that does not infringe the privacy of data subjects.
1. Conditions for lawful processing
We process personal information only where we have a lawful basis, such as consent, the performance of a contract, compliance with a legal obligation, or the legitimate interests of our business. We limit processing to the minimum information required to deliver our services.
2. Information Officer
Our Information Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with POPIA and for handling requests from data subjects. To submit a request or raise a concern, contact us at support@tenderbidassistant.co.za.
3. Data subject rights
- The right to be notified that your personal information is being processed.
- The right to access and request a copy of your personal information.
- The right to request correction or deletion of inaccurate information.
- The right to object to processing on reasonable grounds.
- The right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.
4. Security safeguards
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to secure personal information against loss, unauthorised access, and misuse. Access is restricted to authorised personnel and trusted service providers who are bound by confidentiality obligations.
5. Direct marketing
We only send direct marketing communications to users who have consented or where we rely on an existing customer relationship permitted by POPIA. You may unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time using the link provided in each message.
6. Cross-border transfers
Where personal information is transferred to a third party outside South Africa, we do so only where the recipient is subject to a law or binding agreement that provides an adequate level of protection, or with your consent.
7. Information Regulator
If you are not satisfied with our response to a privacy concern, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
